Today was the 9th Annual Selkirk Waterfront Festival; this is an annual event that raises funds for the community.
This event had everything for everyone; delicious foods, vendors selling their crafts and wears, demonstrations, educational booths, a giant kids zone with motorized swings, bouncy castle, inflatable slide; as well as, a main stage where performers a plenty entertained us all, while further down there was another entertainment tent.
The first band on stage was a compilation of singer, guitar, bass, and drums; their ages ranging from 7 - 11. There were several great dance crews to inspire everyone to move.
This event took a lot of organization and dedication; which was payed off with the smiles on every one's faces that attended.
I spoke to a few people who make a point to come every year; as the vendors and entertainment may change, the degree of fun and enjoyment never falters.
One little guy hadn't stopped talking about his face painting from last year and got the same one this year; he's four, but it will be a memory he will surely cherish for another year.
It was an early start to the day but well worth it and needed to pull this event off. There was a lot of great energy; which I believe held off the rain and brought out the sun for us; it just made it that much better.
If you weren't able to attend today, mark it on your calendars for next year, it's worth it. See their website for more information: http://www.burnsidegorge.ca/
