1st Annual UrbaCity Challenge

If you were down town Victoria on Sunday, June 19th and saw lots of people running around,  you were witnessing the 1st Annual UrbaCity Challenge. This event was to raise money for the BC Cancer Foundation; they actually raised $15,000 for this worthy foundation.
The competitors were given maps with 24 check points and challenge stations all over downtown Victoria; which they were tasked to get themselves the these check points/stations, complete a challenge, and get back to the starting point (Save-On-Food Memorial Centre) within 4 hours.
It was a high octane race were everyone involved walked away with large smiles due to the fun and excitement of it all.
The winners were: 1st Place Team – Team Bovine – Oren Levine and Jessica Bugach; 2nd Place Team – Team Viscount – Matt Peulen and Nathan Boss; 3rd Place Team – Rooftop Racers – Grant Olson and Rachel Olson. They received medals and wonderful prize travel packages.
The course was designed by Team Academy; they have worked World wide creating and executing challenges for participants. They definitely lived up to their reputation in what they did for this event.
This event has been in the works for over a year and the attention to detail shows the dedication and fore sight of those that organized it.
Duff Lang, President of MAXIMUS Canada, and Host of this inaugural event was pleased with the turnout of participants and volunteers. "With the support of the participants and 100 volunteers, this first year event is a great success."
It truly was, I'm looking forward to next years event, I wonder what the challenge's will be for that one?
